It is clean and simple, focusing on the images and nothing else. The result can be found on www.eddokloosterman.com.
Please leave feedback if you do have anything to say about my new site, either tweet, email, send smoke signals ... you catch my drift ... ;-)

In my mind there was nothing but to agree with this, though I had a couple questions. A number of messages later we both agreed on the licensing of this image for this single event... Most of my time was spent paddling on the Soča and the Koritnica, almost all sections have been paddled (except for the extremely dangerous sections and a few other stretches of the river). I'd like to give you that this is a very short summary of the whole Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-90428918135360022082011-04-21T22:18:00.001+02:002011-04-21T22:20:32.597+02:00Going kayaking in Slovenia :)
After having not been on a vacation for a number of months, its time again to go on another trip again. This time heading to Slovenia with a couple friends of the student canoe club DKV Euros for a week of white water kayaking.
Have been in the same region for a few times now, and paddled on the same rivers also. Everytime has been a blast, what is better than to have fun on and off the river Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-61775395270319000992011-04-01T21:13:00.000+02:002011-04-01T21:13:14.075+02:00Short review on the Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L
OK, a while back I promised on Twitter that, after having purchased a second-hand Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM, I would post a review about this lens on my blog. Besides, the Interwebs is also about sharing information, not only gathering info; so here is my contibution that I hope to do more.

It is already a while ago that I heard of this photo contest. Not sure anymore how I got hold of this contest, probably via Twitter or Facebook, but decided that I wanted to participate.
The brief was to submit a maximum of five photos "highlighting the beauty, adventure, and inspiration of bicycle travel".
One of the photos was the photo that is depicted above, which made it as first photo in aEddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-27655995705084584352011-02-13T22:34:00.001+01:002011-02-13T22:34:40.630+01:00Next big cycle tour: South AmericaWell, there I said it; my next big cycle tour will be in South America. This plan has been playing around in my head for quite some time now.It started while I was still cycling in NewZealand, reaching the end of that big cycle tour.Last year for my birthday I already put the Lonely Planet guides forPeru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina on my wishlist; which Isubsequently also got from my parents ;-)Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-2154137925247853702011-01-23T19:59:00.001+01:002011-01-23T20:03:31.822+01:00Memories of NZ - A photo slideshowAbout two weeks ago I was asked by Blanche (@worldcyclevideo) if whether I also made videos after following her on Twitter. As my focus is on photography instead of cinematography, I could create a slideshow of my New Zealand travel photos.
So this weekend I committed myself to doing just that, using Apple's iMovie software.
Please enjoy!

The lights were green, though thecampervan didn't move. The driver mentioned that it wouldn't start, buhe could fix it. However, a push of all of us (I wasn't the first toarrive at the van) helped to 'park' the van somewhere out of Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-92186951061034543262011-01-03T15:05:00.001+01:002011-01-03T16:01:03.306+01:00Adventurous start of a new yearIn 2010 the year started with preparations for a long cycling trip through New Zealand, so this year I wanted to do something again. Sometime in December I vented the idea that it would be cool to do a short trip just after Christmas, spending new year's eve somewhere else. My sister did dig this idea as well, so things were settled.
My idea was first to head out to the snow, though it would be Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-20176654221690181152010-12-28T20:25:00.000+01:002010-12-28T20:25:51.948+01:00Another year flew byIt is not uncommon to become a bit nostalgic when the year seems to come to an end, setting the door wide open for the next. Even so with me, some nostalgia has crept up on me.
There is no denying it, it has been quite a year (2010): spent two months cycling in New Zealand after finishing college in October of '09, given a couple presentations on my cycling trip over the summer, and moved out ofEddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-69029955823832662682010-10-05T23:25:00.000+02:002010-10-05T23:25:01.129+02:00Paddling the Dinkel with a few friends, a micro adventure
So after a week of being ill, a few friends had asked me if I wanted to join them for a half a day of paddling. I felt quite fine, so of course had to say yes :).
It was a wonderful half day spent on the Dinkel, a small river on the border area of the Netherlands and Germany. The river originates somewhere in Germany, and runs past Losser to the Lutterzand and even further. It seems like this is a returning note from me about my blogs, but I was intending to keep this blog updated once every while ... shame on me for not keeping my own promises :-(.
A lot has happened in the past few months that might be worth sharing, such as the fact that I am finally moving out of my student room and going into a small apartment in Deventer (NL), and spent some fantastic times Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-36274676511228180652010-04-23T08:30:00.029+02:002010-04-25T10:59:33.250+02:00Why go cycle touring on a recumbent?Within New Zealand and my home country the Netherlands, I get this question from time to time. The short answer that I usually give that it is more fun to be on a recumbent (i.e., "bent" for short), than on an upright bike. As you can probably figure, that is not the whole story to it.
During my high school period I was saving up for an upright trekking bike, like the Koga-Miyata Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-57477429832236641592010-04-21T19:58:00.000+02:002010-04-21T19:58:17.062+02:00Review of some camping gearFor a while now I have been thinking about giving you something of a review of camping and/or cycling equipment that I used during my travels through New Zealand. With this blogpost I try to give you my personal opinion on gear that I took with me, it is by no means a scientific judgement, just my personal opinion ;-).

To get my mind of things and not falling in a deep hole of not cycling I had decided to run a half marathon in a reasonable time (planned to do it 1:45h). But in the last few weeks I find myself more and more thinking back on how simple the life on Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-10359099184443634492010-03-13T17:10:00.002+01:002011-01-11T21:05:42.092+01:00Selection of photos published

Although I am back at work again, and sleeping in my own bed again, it feels strange to be here. Ah well, that will pass probably. My trip back home didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped, as the staff of Malaysian Air at first didn't recognize my bike as Eddohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01775330323304290562noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6243279167487894077.post-45111064318148053782010-03-05T05:03:00.000+01:002011-01-11T20:59:13.884+01:00My last days in NZWith this glimpse of the big city Auckland I will make this the last blogpost from New Zealand, next one will be from Dutch soil.Yesterday flew in from Christchurch to Auckland, and arranged a place to sleep at a hostel. The best option was a hostel in the center of town, according to the people at the airport tourist info. journey through New Zealand. Of course I am not flying home directly,
so still have a couple of days to explore more of the area around
Christchurch, and later on Auckland. However, no more cycling days

Near both glaciers I could feel the cold coming from them, which was good on a hot day ;).Staying at Gillespies Beach was pretty sweet, but there were quite a few sandflies around.
